Today we have the latest coronavirus numbers as the state continues to see an increase in cases. We are continuing to watch local school districts, governments, the fort and other organizations as they all attempt to navigate back to normalcy amid a persistent pandemic.
Our local museum has a new curator, and she has hit the ground running, helping those involved with the Fry Cemetery restoration project earn some recognition for their efforts.
Find those stories and more in today's Morning Blend, including an update on the Bighorn Fire raging in Tucson as crews work to contain the blaze.

Famous Pie
On this date in 1899, John B. “Pie” Allen died in Tucson. Elsewhere in the state, Allen is known for having been elected to three terms in the Arizona Legislature and serving as Tucson's mayor, but in Cochise County he is best known as being the namesake of Tombstone's famous Allen Street. The right stuff
Also on June 15, way back in 1215, one of the most important documents in human history was ratified when King John of England signed the Magna Carta. A political document meant to assuage a revolt, it was subsequently violated and many elements repealed, but nonetheless helped establish the foundation for basic freedoms and liberty, and had a heavy influence on the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights hundreds of years later. Learn more about this crucial agreement here, explore the Library of Congress' exhibition on the document here or read this article that challenges the role of the Magna Carta and its actual impact over the years.
Thanks for reading and stay safe as we start another week Cochise County!
